My Favorite Fall Trend

Recently in a lot of magazines, videos and on the cat walk I've noticed that there is a growing trend for the fall of heavy under eye make up. I really love this look, its so pretty and makes it possible to really show off the colour on the upper lid.

Its such an easy look which is possible with all colours of eye liner to match and extenuate any eye colour. So I gave it a shot.

To go along with the fall trend I chose to do a Gold eye look with a heavy black line under the bottom lash line. After a few experimental looks I found that this type of look is a lot easier with Gel liner instead of Pencil or Liquid. As pencil is, for me, quite harsh and insensitive for my lower lash line and liquid was too difficult to control between the skin and the bottom lashes on the lower lash line. Gel liner is also easier to blend than pencil or liquid so is easier to achieve a more smokey look.

Lining the waterline with a very black pencil will also bring the look together and give extra depth on the lower lash line.

I love this look. I love changing my make up look and stepping outside of the normal comfort zones that all my other friends seem to love to stay in. I am most defiantly going to be wearing this look out more regularly, I would defiantly recommend it!

My teeny tiny M.A.C collection.

Even though, I'm a self proclaimed drugstore lover. I love make up and beauty. Full stop. So there is a point where my will power fails and I cave in and buy higher end products. Purely because of the fact that I want to see what's out there.
MAC is obviously a well known brand which is famously good quality, so if I was to splash out now and again. It's going to be on MAC, but bare with. My collection is tinnnnyyy!

1) My first product is the one, out of my 3 MAC products which I've had for agggeess!

My blush is Springsheen and is by far my favourite blush I own. I've had this blush since my 15th birthday. Now baring in mind I'm 18 in January, the fact that I've used this blush on a daily basis ever since I've had it and I still have a fair amount left. Is very impressive.

Even though this product is currently around the £18 mark, and can be seen as quiet pricey. However it has lasted me every well because of the pigmentation, for every use on a brush you only need the slightest amount. I'm defiantly going to invest in another MAC blush as absolutely no drug store blush would ever last this long.

Love love love this blush. It's such a pretty pink with subtle gold sparkles in it. Soooo nice. Defiantly recommend it.

2) Now for my most recent purchases and one MAC's most famous products. Lipsticks.

My first lipstick is 'chatterbox', for a while there was a hype about this lipstick because of its easy wearability. I would describe it as a muted bright pink which is easily wearable for everyday make up.

Chatterbox is an amplified creme lipstick so is a lovely moisturising formula. MAC lipsticks are obviously well known for the great pigmentation so it does take a while to wear down the whole lipstick. With a blue undertone the only downside is that on some people, it can emphasis yellow teeth, but for most people it is fine.

3) Finally but defiantly not least is 'modesty'. As I have a bright-ish colour I really wanted a nude to add to my collection. There are so many famous nudes from MAC such as 'Hue' and 'Creme de Nude'. The colour 'Modesty' that I've been eyeing up for a while, the YouTuber/beauty blogger Beauty Crush has been raving about this colour all summer.

I would describe this colour as a deep Rosie colour. When I first bought it, I was very unsure because I thought it was brown, however with a closer look and on the lips there is more of a peachy:pink tone to it. Which makes it really nice and subtle to wear casually on a daily basis. A plus, with this lipstick is also that this is a yellow based tone lipstick which enhances the whiteness in teeth unlike 'Chatterbox'.

As 'Modesty' is a creme sheen and not an amplified creme it has more of a glossy finish but is still just as pigmented and moisturising as 'Chatterbox'. Yes, £15 for a lipstick is a steep price. But the way I saw it was that it's more like an investment which will give value and last where other lipsticks that are £1-£6 may not offer this.

Go for it. Cave in. Purchase some MAC. Because even though it's pricey, there is reason behind the hype and if you are starting to get properly into make up and want to move up end. Then MAC is the way forward.

My cat even took interest in my MAC. That says it all.

Day and Night Fall Pictorial Make-up

As I am in my last year of High School, everyone is turning 18 and everyone seems to be throwing some sort of party every weekend. However, because of my work and busy days, this means I do not have much time to get ready and to do a completely new make up look. So, I have created an easy long lasting look which can be warn naturally in the day and very easily transformed into a night time look.

The only products I used for this look - minus base make up such as foundation and concealer.
- Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo in the colour 'On and On Bronze'
- Modesty lipstick by Mac (day time look)
- Barry M lipstick in the number 160 (night time look)
- Rimmel Blush - Maderia
- Rimmel Soft Kohl white eye liner
- Collection eyeshadow pencils in Vanilla Sky and Vintage Blush

1. Cover lid in white eyeliner pencil to act as a base
2. Put Maybelline 'On and On Bronze' in the outer V
3. Blend with blending brush
4. Apply Collection Vintage Blush in the centre of the lid
5. Apply Collection Vanilla Sky in the inner corner of the eye
6. Blend both these colours to make a soft transition from colour to colour
7. Apply white eye liner pencil to water line
8. Apply white pencil to the brow bone to tidy brow and highlight

For that extra essence of Fall, apply a deep plum or brown toned blush to cheeks. I have chosen Rimmel Maderia which has a hint of purple when applied to the cheeks which really well ties in with the dark night lips.

To finish off the looks just add the lip and you are all good to go!

Final looks with lips completed.
Hope you enjoyed this Pictorial/blog tutorial. I really enjoyed making it, so I hope you have fun recreating it! lots of love

Review: Collection Work the Colour Eyeshadow Pencils

As a person who suffers from annoying oily eyelids when I found the Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream eyeshadows, I have been crazy in love with them. The only disappointment I got from the Colour Tattoos were the colour range, I love the 'On and On Bronze' and the 'Taupe' colours but they are quiet dark. When I want to do a lighter look for on the eyes, its difficult to find a base which i know will last all day.

Vanilla Sky at the Back, Vintage Blush at the Front
So I have been on the hunt. I know some brands such as Clinque have their eye shadow chubby sticks which have been raved about on the web, but the drugstore princess i am, I've been keen to find an alternative. That, my friends, is when I came across the Collection Work the Colour Eyeshadow Pencils.

Once again, i have fallen head over heels with a product. These pencils are sooo good i can not emphasize enough and at the price of £3 each, its hard to go wrong.
Vintage Blush - Left, Vanilla Sky - Right
(Excuse my UGLY hands)
The texture of the pencils themselves are so creamy and the colour pay off is beautiful. The texture also makes them incredible easy to work with and very blendable.

The packaging claims the pencils to be long lasting and waterproof. Now I have tried these out a couple of times and they do last a good length of time considering the price. Unfortunately however, i have yet to test out the water endurance of these products, so for the claim of being waterproof, i am still not sure on.

Left - Vanilla Sky, Right - Vintage Blush
Nevertheless, I have been successful in my mission to find a cheaper alternative to some of the higher end eye shadow pencils and I'm extremely proud of my purchase, if i do say so myself.

I MET TANYA BURR!

Down in Carnaby Street, London a new Benefit Cosmetics store has opened and to help promote the opening, Benefit hosted a meet up for Tanya Burr and any viewers. For those of you who don't know who Tanya Burr is, she is a beauty blogger, Youtuber and Professional make up artist who i look up too dearly. Tanya is the first beauty Youtuber i started watching and is now, one of the main reasons its my ambition to become a make up artist. Once I saw Tanya post the meet up details I jumped at the chance to meet her as Carnaby Street is a train ride away from me.
Can you spot me? Taken from Tanya's Blogpost www.tanyaburr.co.uk
Starbucks, Pink telephone box and Wristbands
After running through London's main stations with my friend and a well needed Starbucks after school, we made it to the store. There was already a line on a very snazzy pink carpet of around 100 girls. We were lucky enough to get a wrist band giving us entry to the meet up, however, only a couple of minutes after the wrist bands were all given out and people were being turned away.
Waiting on the pink carpet in line
After a few shopping and waiting around our time had come to meet the lovely Tanya Burr. And there was no disappointment. She is exactly how her videos portray, greeting us with the same voice saying "hey guys" that I've heard for the last couple of years. She was so lovely, down to earth and even more beautiful in person. It was one of the best days ever and if your planning on meeting her in the future, don't be nervous she is so nice and will make sure you get free chocolate!

ME AND TANYA BURR
I would just like to Thank Tanya herself for meeting so many of us and Benefit Cosmetics and the staff at Carnaby street for organizing it! If you get the chance, pop in, they are so lovely and happy to help with any problems

Fall/Autumn Tag 2013

Fall is one of my favourite months as it provides the comfortable transition from a rare hot summer here in England, to the freezing winter. It also gives the perfect excuse to sit in a duvet and watch movies all day without feeling like I've ruined a lovely day!

1. Favorite Fall lip product and Favorite Fall nail product? Autumn, in my opinion is the best season for make up because i love all the Purple tones, therefore my favourite lip product is 160 by Barry M which is a deep cherry colour! Whereas when it comes to nails i love Green in the Autumn so my current favourite colour is One Directions "Everything Emerald" (Liam's colour).
2. Favorite Fall Activity?

Snuggling indoors watching movies

3. Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink?
MOCHA COOKIE CRUMBLE! AJDFAHIDSJVSI! If you haven't tasted this, you haven't lived.
4. Favorite Fall Scent?

I've just become a owner of the new one direction perfume "Our Moment" and i flipping love it, its fruity yet floral at the same time as being really girly. If you see it in a drugstore, have a smell and you'll know what i mean.
5. Favorite Fall Scarf or accessory?
I'm going to count Jewellery in the same category as accessories in this question, so my favourite accessory is my Pandora bracelet - which to be honest is my all year round accessory but i just love it.

6. Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze?

I dont understand this question at all - but i dont like anything scary anyway. So none of them things i would ever visit.

Can i count my onesie as an answer to this question? because i live in it.

HIGHEND VS. HIGHSTREET: Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo + Benefit Crease-less Cream

I'm a massive eye shadow girl, no matter what look i will try and include eye shadow in my make up somewhere however my only issue is i tend to always rub my eyes a lot, resulting in my eye shadow not lasting very long. Once creme shadows hit the stores claiming to be more long lasting than powder shadows, i was automatically sold. The question is, who is better in this department? High street or High end?

I currently own only 2 cream shadows Benefit Creaseless Cream and Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo:
Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo -
On and On Bronze
Benefit Creaseless Cream - Skinny
Jeans

Firstly starting off with the high end product, the Benefit Creaseless Cream. Whereas, the claim of being "Creaseless" is correct and the original formula was smooth, apart from that, i'm not overly keen on this product. To start, the pigmentation of this product, in my opinion, is nothing compared to the Colour tattoo. It took me about 3 coats to get the desired colour, also as you can probably tell from the photo. This product doesn't last all that long, mine has already started to dry out and fall out of the packaging and this makes it even harder to apply. Not sure whether this may have been a packing error as i haven't left it out without a lid on for a long period of time. At £14.00, i wouldn't expect any of these issues to happen however, since i bought this product Benefit have brought out a new Creaseless Cream WITH different packaging and a new formula, so the problem has seemed to be solved.

Now for some positivity! Feeling very disheartened by Cream Shadows, i reluctantly bought the Maybelline Colour Tattoo and will defiantly be purchasing more! The formula is so smooth and the pigmentation is unbelievable for a drugstore product (shown in image bottom right)! The wear of the product is also great, as i stated previously i tend to rub my eyes a lot the name initially drew me to the product as everyone knows tattoos to obviously be long wearing and whilst I've been wearing this, rubbing my eyes hasn't been a problem. This product sticks to your lids and will not move at all and at just under £5 its an absolute bargain and i would recommend it to anyone!

There it is, paying more money for something doesn't always necessarily mean you receive a better product. Hope this has been helpful to someone out there because if i had read something like this before, i would be £14.00 better off right now!

Quick and Easy Glamorous Look.

Its nearly Friday Night and as i usually work Fridays i get home late and if i have something planned such as a party or a night out i need a really easy and quick make up look that wont look too rushed! These are some simple, easy to follow steps that could help you in a rush. Enjoy!

For this look i will be using only a small sample of products, this photo shows the products i have used.
(From top left to bottom right)
1. Benefit cream shadow - Skinny Genes
2. MUA 'undress me too' Palette
3. MUA Harry Kiss You Lipstick
4. Rimmel Glam'eyes Eyeliner
5. Rimmel Scandal Eyes Retro Look Mascara

 1. I first apply 'Naked' from my MUA palette.
2. I apply my Benefit Creme Shadow in 'Skinny Jeans' with a flat faced brush. This will create a base for my next shadows to stick too.
3. With my Duo - Fibre Real Techniques brush i apply 'Lavish' to the crease and place 'Corrupt' to the outer corner of the eye.
4. With my Rimmel Glam'eyes liner i create a winged cat eye
5.Then wear the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Retro Look Mascara.

This look for the eyes is really easy and will last the night because of the base of creme shadow. To pull any quick or unfinished look together is really easy by adding a bright red lipstick to add the glamorous factor! I've chosen the Harry Lipstick from the new one direction range available from Superdrug or online, mainly because this is truly a really good lipstick and lasts all day. Hope you enjoyed this post, a little different to usual but oh well.

My Summer: V FESTIVAL

After returning from seeing my family in the beautiful peak district i returned home in Surrey in the south of England, after working a few days i was soon greeted with the exciting prospect of V FESTIVAL! For those who don't know, V Festival is a music festival hosted by the company Virgin Media and is very popular with celebrities such as Ed Sheeran, the Geordie shore cast and members of ONE DIRECTION!

Still having fun in the rain
I can safely say that V Festival was the best and worst experience of my life all rolled into one. Usually the Festival goes on for a weekend and people camp close by for the weekend. Me and a friend didn't fancy camping so we bought a Saturday ticket and a hotel for the night and i'm sooo glad i only went for the day. I got to see so many acts i wanted to see such as Labyrinth, Beyonce, The Script, Connor Maynard, Katy B and bumping into the Geordie Shore cast (but no Niall Horan :(). However, the festival is hosted in a large park but was jam packed with around 300,000 people which made it hard to move round and difficult to go to the loo. Also the park constantly smelt of drugs and you would get the odd drunk person making inappropriate comment, but i would defiantly recommend it to anyone thinking of going next year because it is an experience you will never forget and the majority is so much fun! If you are thinking of going, a small dis-calmer  don't buy jelly off anyone. I bought Jelly, thinking it was only jelly. Yet once it passed my lips i automatically spat it out, instead of water, the people selling it used pure vodka which was gross but i survived.

All kitted out in our festival gear

Review - Real Technique: Duo Fibre Brush

As its now back to school time for most students, make up routines will be tuned down either by personal choice or your school's choice. Even if your school isn't as strict with uniform and make up, i personally like wearing light make up because its so much easier and quicker to do whilst i'm half asleep on a morning. Plus, i like dressing up and doing my make up properly outside of school and feeling like you look nice for a special event or party where people notice a difference in your appearance instead of looking the same because of so much effort made in school time. At my school where i attend Collage, they are quiet strict with make up in the lower years so as i'm meant to be a "good influence", i don't tend to bother with many products on an average school day and this is where the new limited edition Real Technique Duo Fiber Brushes have become my best friends.

These brushes, made by Samantha Chapman, are designed to apply a light dusting of make up unlike some of the other Real Technique brushes such as their buffing brush which is more useful in fuller and heavier make up looks. The pack of 3 contains a large face brush, a contour brush and an eye brush and i use all 3 of them every morning!

The largest brush known as the "Duo Fiber Face Brush" is great for powder! It applies the perfect amount of powder, enough to stop shine and set any other make up without making your face look cakey, this brush is my favorite without a doubt out of the 3 brushes.

The Second brush down, is known as the "Duo Fiber Contour brush". I haven't actually used this brush for any contouring yet because i don't tend to contour for school and outside of school i have the other Real Techniques contour brush BUT i do really like this for highlighter, because it is really good at limiting the amount of product the brush picks up and so gives your face a slight subtle illumination.

The final brush, the "Duo Fiber Eye Brush" is honestly, my least favorite brush out of the 3. Whereas the other 2 brushes limit the amount of product picked up by the brush, i feel this brush picks up hardly any product and obviously makes it really hard too apply eye shadow. HOWEVER, it is really good for applying highlighter to the brow bone for a subtle shimmer and for blending eyeliner to soften it, so i have found some use for it.

Overall, these brushes are really good for school make up and even though i don't agree with how they perform some of the jobs they were made to do, i have found a use for each brush that it does well and works for me personally. Hope this found someone, anyone, helpful if they were thinking of buying these then i do recommend them because they are good and you never know, they might work for you?
