Half face make up

Recently, on YouTube, Nicky - one half of pixiwoo - did a video on doing half face make up to really compare how different products bring out the features in your face. So I thought I would give it a try and these were the results -

These results were actually quiet shocking for me as it shows how much shape make up gives anyone's face and how much imperfections can be easily covered to boost someone's confidence. I've never been confident in my own skin and would always put on make up to go to the shop or to pop out for 5 minutes, just in case I bump into anyone I know. So putting myself out there on the big wide web with no make up on can be seen as quiet terrifying for me, and I need to change.
From now on, I'm going to try and be more confident and let my skin breathe from underneath all the make up. Wish me luck.

Nyx haul

Until 2 days ago I believed that NYX was only available to the US and was extremely jealous when youtubers such as Fleur De Force rave about some of their products and I wouldn't be able to get my hands on them without paying a small fortune for postage and packaging. Recently I discovered the UK site and the summer sale NYX was hosting. I also discovered the tale that some nyx eye shadows are great dupes for mac eye shadows.

In the image to the right, you can see the shadows and blushes I purchased from NYX from left to right they are 'desert rose blush', 'suede' eye shadow, 'Sahara' eye shadow, 'eucalyptus' eye shadow and finally 'sparkle white' eye shadow. According to www.makeuptalk.com all these shadows are dupes of macs popular eye shadows.  As of yet, I don't own any of the mac products that they are meant to dupe so I cannot compare. However so far, these shadows seem highly shimmery and pigmented. As I use them, I think I'll be doing a review on how well the products work. Hopefully all goes well.

Eos sphere lip balm review

I've been unsure about reviewing this product because so many people, celebrities and beauty bloggers included have raved so much about it. I bought my eos lip balm, expecting wonders, for my lips to be the smoothest they've ever felt and I would be sat wondering how I've ever lived without this product as people such as Miley Cyrus and The Kardashians constantly tweet about their lips balms.
Yet somehow I kind of feel disappointed in this lip balm. Apart from the shape, I see the eos lip balm as an average lip product. The novalty of the shape of the product soon wore off as I put the product to my lips, after discovering that the eos was pretty average, the smell of the lemon flavour soon put me off. For UK readers, the best way I can describe it is the same smell as the lemon flavoured fairy non-bio washing liquid. It smells like I'm putting soap on my lips.
Not sure if its just this particular flavour, but if anyone would like to experience the eos lip balm first hand. Don't get the lemon. Get the mint instead, at least that one apparently smells nice. I leave you with my best impression of Kim Kardashian or Kylie Jenner.

My 10 favourite lip products

okay, so recently I've been sorting and organising my make up and realised that I have many lip products and thought my 10 favourite would make a good blog post, so off we go.

These are in no particular order as I can't pick my absolute favourites but out of my collection these are my favourites.

1) my first is the Rimmel Apocalips and I have it in the colour 101 celestial. These lip stains/lip glosses have been raved about by many bloggers and youtubers! They are highly pigmented and last for ages and as a bonus are available in most drugstores at a really reasonable price of £5.99 (which is what I paid). The only disadvantages to this product is the smell. Anyone who has tested these products or the Rimmel lipsticks will recognise the distinctive smell of the products. The smell is very sweet and if over used, can make me, personally, feel a little sick. But this is only my personal opinion. Apart from that the formulae and lasting finish of the Apocalips lip lacquers is impeccable. Also a disclaimer with this product is, as it is also a stain, be very careful when applying it because it can stain skin!
2) my second favourite is my darkest lip colour I own! Lipstick 160 by Barry m is a dark cherry colour. Wearing this product makes anyone's teeth look whiter due to the blue undertone and lasts for ages! I recommend anyone to use it with a liner as it can tend to bleed but apart from that it is great. At a price of £4.49 from superdrug it's a great product and I recommend to any brunettes.
3) my next favourite of all time is a lip balm famous for solving dry lips! Burt's bees lip balm is a great lip balm which solves any dry lip because of its natural ingredients. I originally bought this because my mum kept nagging at me to buy a lip balm with natural ingredients instead of products such as Vaseline which have a ingredient in them which helps makes your lips addicted to the product without solving any issues. Some may say that £4.19 is a high end price for lip balm but I think it is completely worth it! In the UK Burt's Bees are quite hard to find but the supermarket waitrose does a wide range of Burt bees products
4) my next product is the first lip gloss of all my favourites and the most unknown product. For Christmas my sister bought me a Lula and Belle make up set, which included a wide range different make up products. Honestly, I had never heard of them before but I have fallen in love with their lip gloss as you can tell, the clear colour has turned into a peachy colour. The thing i love the most about it is the smell as it has a sense of vanilla which could be a subjective taste for some people. I don't know the retail price of this lip gloss but if you can get your hands on it I fully recommend you get it.

5) this lipstick from Rimmel was one of the first lipsticks I bought for myself. It's a beautiful coral pink colour perfect for summer and is easy to wear casually! It's part of the Kate moss collection within the brand Rimmel London. However, similar with the Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquers the only disadvantage with this product is the smell which can have a tendency to be quiet sickly! But for around £5 it is great price for the formula.
6) this is my only lip product from topshop and I love it, hence it is in my favourites. I've never gone for such a bright orange colour and was a bit sceptical at first but the colour known as "covet" is a very subtle colour for summer. the fact that it is a lip "bullet" makes it so much easier to carry round in a hand bag is just a bonus too. Some may argue that £8 is too much and some dupes could be found, but I wouldn't trade it even though it doesn't have the best lasting finish, it's a great substitute to a nude.
7)my next 2 favourites are high end products. My first is the Clinique long lasting gloss in the colour Cabana crush. I got this particular gloss in a sample size with another product I purchased. The current retail price in the UK is £16 which I would defiantly pay after I've now tested this product out. It claims to last 16 hours which i don't quiet believe but it is very long lasting! With a hint of gold shimmer and a smooth and not sticky formula this product could be easily worn on its own as the pink pigmentation is also very high! So anyone considering purchasing a new lip gloss! Go for this one if all the things I've listed are the things you look for in a lipstick
8) my second high end product is also by Clinique and is one of their "different lipsticks" in the colour angel. The formula is a sheer glossy red which is once again very long lasting. As you may tell from the packaging, this lipstick is very well loved and it has its reasons! At a retail price of £17 this lipstick has lasted me a year and a half and It still has life still in it and I'm going to use every last piece.

9) These last 2 lip products are my 2 newest things on my list. This first lipstick is named "Saturn" 606 by NYX and has a slight hint of shimmer to compliment the peachy pink. The formula of the lipstick is also very nice, smooth and moisturising. At a retail price of £5 and a sale price which I bought it at of £3 I think this is an absolute bargain.
10) finally, my last favourite lip product is also by NYX and is fairly new. This colour "frosted beige" is similar to the previous colour "Saturn" I just mentioned however his colour is more peachy and less pink with more shimmer to it. I also got this lipstick, just like the previous one, in sale at £3 but the original retail price is £5. Also similarly, the formula is smooth and moisturising and strongly recommended.
So there we go, my 10 favourite lip products including lipsticks, lip stains, lip balms and lip glosses. Hope this was fine and not too long winded for anyone who wants to read. Please follow if you want to see anymore reviews or recommendations. My next post will be reviewing the eos lip balm!

Summer

Haven't made a blog post in a while, this is due to the fact that since the 19th of July I've broken up from school for summer! Since then I've been with my dad in the Peak District, tried to stalk Harry styles' family in Holmes chapel and been to work. From the 20th - 27th of July I got to visit my dad, step mum and my brothers whom I never usually see because they live in Saudi Arabia. During this time I stayed in the Peak District and visited my uncle who lives in Cheshire. As a one direction fan I took this opportunity to make my dad take me to Holmes chapel. It's a beautiful little town however we had no luck finding the styles family, don't really mind because then I would have felt like a major stalker.

Whilst we were in the Peak District as one of my younger brothers has never seen cows before he was completely obsessed and would wake me up every morning to go and find some "moo's"
Had a great time with my family and my baby brothers! Cannot wait for the rest of summer to come along!

Friendship issues

I currently stand at 0 followers. So this a going just an experiment  which I don't think ill get much feedback from. But I have some issues which i need an opinion from people outside the issue.

I recently went out for dinner with a couple of friends, 5 friends including me to be exact. I was going to invite another friend, for whom we will call "sue" for the purpose of this post. Yet I knew that sue was busy with her boyfriend on the day that we were all going out to dinner. I was going to invite sue just for the sake of it but then another friend decided she was going to drive is all there in her 5 seater car. Therefore if I invited sue she couldn't come due to the car size, so I decided to not mention anything to sue as i knew she would be busy and say no anyway and even if she said yes she couldn't fit in the car. Earlier on in the same day that i was going to dinner sue asked me if i was going to a party that everyone was invited too but i could'nt go because in was going to dinner. Sue asked me if i was going and i said no, she asked why and i said i was busy and didnt mention anything more to save her feelings. In the middle of dinner, sue text me and was upset and called me a lier because i didn't invite her as she found out where I was from others at the party she was at.  Am I in the wrong for not inviting a close friend? Even though I knew she was busy. I feel so guilty.

Sale Haul

I love payday. I love shopping. So when I get paid and the summer sales start I am in heaven! The other day I took a little trip into my local major shopping centre to spend a few pennies. And I thought, that I might as well share my purchases with the Internet so other people can see what is out there and if you dig deep enough you can find a real bargain.
So this was my first purchase. As it has been really hot in England recently, I've needed to get a new pair of shorts. However, I'm extremely picky with my legs, so when I saw these I fell in love. These shorts aren't to short and aren't too long and I love them so much because they are so comfy and they were a bargain! £10 from river island! Go grab them!
So, on Friday I have a 90's party. I went into Primark and saw this top and instantly thought this was perfect and was only £6 and perfect for summer!

I've also been needing another skirt as I only have one black one at the moment! I saw this and instantly really liked it, I thought it would go with most things and could be dressed up and dressed down easily! Only £8 from Primark!
My friend actually found this top. It's from h&m and was only £5 in the sale! I thought it was just a really good attitude to give off and a perfect t shirt to wear to a party whilst my ex is there!

This one is also similar to the previous in the same aspect to the shape of it. This one and the previous one are both quiet long with long arm holes down each side so I would recommend a boob tube or a Bando with these types of tops! Nevertheless another bargains at only £3 also from H&M

Onto dresses, as it is summer I've been looking for smart/casual dresses that I could get away with at school! I saw a similar one online but only in grey, but I saw this one in newlook and I liked it so much more as it was not just plain and I like the pattern.
This dress I love! I know I've said I love everything but I like the stripes on it because vertical stripes are meant to be slimming   which is perfect for summer! Also the elastic band round the middle adds a little bit more detail and shape to the dress! The back is also longer than the front so it seems longer so i can get away with it at school!

I'm sorry if no one likes or read this post! I just thought, why not do a haul in written form instead of on a video! If anyone, anyone anywhere liked this, please like, comment, follow..etc...

Notifications and Stats

Okay, so I've been trying to figure out the layout of Blogger and I came across my stats. I've had this blog for 3 days and this will be my 4th post, and I've just realised that i have had 20 views on my blog so far. I know to some people, 20 views may be pathetic and a tiny number but I cannot believe that 20 individual people have sat on their computer/phone and read my posts or looked and acknowledged my blog's existence. After all, this blog was made for me to just babble about things in my life daily and i didn't expect anyone to see it at all. So i suppose thank you to anyone who has maybe read any of my posts and my blog. Also, if anyone feels the need to comment or give advise on anything that i post then please do and whilst you're at it, follow me! Thank you.

British Summer Time

Andy Murray Winning Wimbolden
Today and recently, where i currently live in the South of England, it has been so warm! As miserable brits, we are used to 300 days of rain and constantly wearing our coats! At the moment it is usually about 31 degrees which, for us, is baking hot. In winter, everyone moans about the cold and the countdown for summer begins, but once summer comes around, we moan about the sweaty heat and the countdown for winter begins. A viscous cycle. Through all the moaning and heat, this weekend no true brit would want to be anywhere else as history was made with Andy Murray winning Wimbolden. These past two summers have been extremely patriotic for England as in 2012 everyone came together to host the fantastic Olympics and this year Wimbolden was won by someone from the UK..a first for 77 years.  No matter what anyone says, im proud to be drink tea and eat scones because im proud to be British. My First Time

As i am very new to the whole blogging world, i feel the need to introduce myself. Recently various YouTubers such as Jim Chapman (http://www.youtube.com/j1mmyb0bba), Alfie/Pointlessblogtv (http://www.youtube.com/PointlessBlog) and Louise/Sprinkle of Glitter (www.youtube.com/sprinkleofglitter) have all done videos titled 'My First Time'.  These videos consist of lists of things that each person has done for the first time and information about this event. So i thought, this would be a great way to introduce myself to the blogging world and do a version on here. Without further or do, here i go.

My First Crush:
This i remember vividly. At the age of about 4 or 5 i joint my primary school in Lancaster and remember first laying eyes on him, his name was Alistair. Throughout primary we would be friends and i would consider pretty close, but in year 3 as he started to have an on/off child relationship with another girl Hannah who everyone loved because she lived on a farm and had huge parties with massive bouncy castles surrounded by cows, i grew very jealous. Due to family issues i moved to another part the country which meant leaving Alistair behind, however on my last day he gave me a purse with a photo of a kitten on it and a kiss on the cheek. I still have this purse and know its exact location right now. Im also still friends with Alistair, but he has seemed to develop a love for Skiing and as far as i can tell from Facebook photos has got a bit chubby. Still, i will forever remember him.
To the right i insert an image of my and Alistair. I'm the little one whose face is only visible  behind the boy in the golden coat, who i assume to be Angel Gabriel directly above Virgin Mary and Alistair is in the bottom left..a Shepard.

My First Love:
As I'm only 17, i still haven't grasped the concept of love and don't know if I've been in it. I've definitely been in some relationships that were easy to get over and some which I'm still not over to this day. So, if that means love, then yes, I've been in love. Otherwise, i shall count Alistair as my first love.

My First Kiss:
My first kiss happened in a cinema. Not quite the best surroundings as i was in a very packed cinema, watching the film 'Just Go With It'. It was with someone who I've never fully liked and to this day still don't understand my actions. Yet, its done.

My First Concert:
My first concert was Girls Allowed when i was about 11 or 12 in Manchester  i went with my step mum, dad and brother. Without realising, this concert was also being televised and as my brother fell asleep during the first 20 minutes, his sleepy face was shown to the whole nation with me beside him in a bright orange top, a pink glittery cow girl hat singing the night away.

My First CD:
To my shame, i never have remembered my first CD or music tape which i bought myself. As i was young and obviously had a love for Girls Allowed, it was probably one of their albums. If not, then god knows.

There we go, hope you enjoyed that internet.

My First Post

My first blog post...what to write? I made this blog as an impulsive decision, as a project over the summer, to actually show emotion and express how i feel in different situations. My friends blame me for being heartless as i claim i would rather a pot noodle over flowers and as i cant deal public affection. This is my way to prove them wrong, to one day hopefully show them that i don't a black pit instead of a heart. This is the blog main purpose. I've always loved YouTube and would love that to be my career, however i don't believe i have the confidence to put myself out there on an extremely popular website where my content could be found by my class mates within a week or so, this is another purpose for this blog. So i can put myself out there, without fully putting myself out there. In a way that gives me more time to keep it to myself, along with putting out there for the public to hopefully get comments and advise on my posts. Therefore i will also include an aspect of my interests such as reviews and products. I fully understand that there are thousands, if not millions of beauty or make up blogs out there. Yes, this will include those things, but much more.

There it is, My first blog post. My aims for this blog, expression and opinion. So, stick around. Why not?
